Blackpool Tower

The date is probably about 1990.
Blackpool Tower whilst not a straight copy of the Eiffel Tower was inspired by it. The mayor of Blackpool visited Paris in 1889 and was so impressed he set up a company to build a tower for Blackpool actually putting in £2,000 of his own money.
The Tower was opened in 1894 it rises 158m, 518ft 9in, and can be seen, on a clear day, from approx 30 miles away.
Unlike it's French counterpart it is not free standing as the bottom has a building around it.
